Factors such as the the number of SEC and Big Ten CFP Bowl selections may adjust this selection order. The bowls Team Selection Committee makes a recommendation to the bowls Board of Directors which has the final decision. No decision will be made prior to the final regular season and conference championship games being played by teams from these two conferences. Teams for the January 2023 game will be announced the afternoon of Sunday December 4th, 2022.
